There are a lot of reasons to come study in Alberta; here are our top 5 reasons!

Excellent Programming for International Students!

International students study the same internationally recognized curriculum as Alberta students and can expect instruction in mathematics, science, language arts and social studies.  Alberta schools also offer expert instruction in English as a Second Language (ESL) to support students as they develop their English language proficiency.

Excellent Teaching!

Alberta prides itself in offering a high teaching quality standard. All of our teachers have a minimum of four years of post-secondary education leading to a bachelor of education (B.Ed.) degree; many have more.  Alberta teachers know a broad range of instructional strategies and are able to determine which strategies are appropriate to help all students reach their potential.

High Quality Education and Academic Excellence!

Alberta’s High School diploma is recognized around the world. Alberta students consistently score well on international tests such as Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) and the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

Lots of things to do and see!

There is never a shortage of things to do and see in Alberta.  From modern cities to lakes and mountains, Alberta has much to offer!  Students who choose Alberta as a study destination often visit amazing parks and natural areas, attend a variety of musical performances and sporting events, participate in festivals and holiday celebrations, join school or community sport leagues, and so much more! Hospitable and Welcoming Communities!

Alberta is home to many people who are culturally diverse and welcoming of visitors.  In Alberta you will find people who are from very different cultures and also people who share your very own culture.  When you live in Alberta, you live in a community with over 3.5 million friendly neighbors!

But don’t just take our word for it! We held a video contest to find out what students thought about Studying in Alberta and here’s what they had to say.

This is one of Alberta’s richest agricultural regions and offers rich and varied scenery. There are four distinct seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. With a moister climate than the grassland regions to the south, small streams and wetlands abound; bluffs and aspen and balsam poplar offer shelter to a variety of wildlife including waterfowl, deer, moose, and smaller wildlife. Camrose, the largest city in the school division has a population of more than 18,000. The city is large enough to have all the amenities of larger cities and is a safe and welcoming community. There are numerous small towns that also have welcoming, supportive communities. In Battle River School Division you will find modern services. From first class recreation facilities to all- embracing cultural opportunities you will find a full range of services. There are plenty of activities to choose from in all four seasons of the year. Recreational opportunities are abundant. You will find ski hills, cross country trails, curling rinks, biathlon tracks, bowling lanes, tennis courts, fitness centers, running tracks, paved walking paths, nature trails, ice arenas, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor and outdoor soccer fields, golf courses and driving ranges. Museums, theaters, fine arts centers and a state of the art performing arts center can all be found within the region. The quality of education throughout the Province of Alberta is excellent and Battle River School Division offers students a quality education in welcoming, safe environments.
