Fee Schedule for 2020 - 2021 school year:

CDN $350
The Application fee of CDN$350 should be made with credit card through our online application portal. For regions where online payment is not available, the application fee can be made payable to the Toronto District School Board by Bank Draft, Money Order or Certified Cheque and must be attached to the application. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
Tuition Fee
(Elementary & Secondary)
Full Year: CDN $16,000.00 (Sep to Jun or Feb to Jan)
One Semester: CDN $8,000.00 (Sep to Jun or Feb to Jun)
  • Tuition Fee is to be made payable to the Toronto District School Board through the CIBC International Student Pay portal or by Bank Draft, Money Order or Certified Cheque in Canadian currency. Use of the CIBC International Student Pay portal is recommended.
  • Emergency Medical Insurance is included in the tuition fee. A comprehensive health insurance plan is mandatory in Ontario and every international student must have this coverage while studying in Toronto.

Application Deadline

  • May 1st for the September entry
  • November 1st for the February entry

Document Check List

The following documents are mandatory at time of submitting the application:
  1. Completed, Signed and Dated Application Form (Please download from our website)
  2. Copy of passport (photo page) or Birth Certificate
  3. Copy of Completed, Signed and Dated Letter of Recommendation (Please download from our website)
  4. Copy of Most recent two-year transcripts or school report cards (certified or notarized)
  5. Application Fee (Bank Draft, or Wire Transfer Reference Sheet)

The following documents must be submitted to ISAO before July 1 for September Entry and December 1 for February Entry or during the Reporting Stage:

  1. Copy of Custodian Declaration Form (Parents) (Notarized)
  2. Copy Custodian Declaration Form (Custodian) (Notarized)
  3. Proof of Custodian’s Status in Canada (Copy of Passport, Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card)
  4. Copies of two documents showing proof of address (for elementary students only)

At time of Reporting:

  1. Copy of Passport
  2. Copy of Valid Study Permit
  3. Two copies of Newcomer Profile
  4. Copy of Immunization Records (Translated into English and certified)



Our Students The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is the largest and one of the most diverse school boards in Canada. We serve approximately 247,000 students in 583 schools throughout Toronto, and more than 130,000 life-long learners in our Adult and Continuing Education programs. With over 40% of our graduates ranking as Ontario Scholars, more than 80% of our graduates go on to university or college.


Elementary Schools (Kindergarten to Grade 8)

Children living in Toronto with parents or relatives may attend one of our 470 plus elementary schools.

School placement is based on the residential address of parent/custodian. Proof of address includes lease agreement, property tax assessment documents, utility bills, bank statement or telephone bills.All students at Grade 8 or under must live with their parents, blood relatives or custodians.Admission Requirements

  1. An average of C+ (65%) or higher in the past two years of school
  2. Letter of recommendation from a teacher or principal
  3. English ability: Although there is no English-speaking requirement for elementary students, we recommend that students have some knowledge of English that includes reading, writing, listening and speaking skills

Secondary Schools (Grade 9 to 12)

Secondary students can attend high school while preparing for post-secondary attendance at either a Canadian college or university. Two academic streams are available. More information can be obtained by contacting the guidance department of each TDSB school designated for international students.

The TDSB secondary schools offer comprehensive support to international students and a full range of academic, language and elective courses., AP courses, extra curriculum activities, clubs, and sport teams. All schools offer a wide range of art programs including music, drama, fine arts and visual arts.

A selection of secondary schools has been selected for hosting international students (Please refer to Appendix A for school profiles). These schools are located throughout the City of Toronto in a variety of communities. The spaces available at the designated secondary schools are regularly updated on our website (www.studytoronto.ca). Please check the website often in order to have the most up-to-date information. Placements will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Every attempt is made to place incoming international students in their school of choice; however, this may not always be possible.

International students applying to TDSB secondary schools are only eligible to regular-track programs.
