Post-study work rights: saying it accurately

For a family weighing several years of fees, what happens after graduation is not a detail. It is frequently the deciding comparison between destinations, and it is where marketing language drifts furthest from the rules.

What accuracy requires

Name the actual entitlement and its duration, rather than describing it as an opportunity.
State the conditions. Level of qualification, institution type, application deadlines after graduation — all of these gate the entitlement and all are routinely omitted.
Distinguish permission to work from likelihood of employment. They are different claims and conflating them is the most common error.
Say that policy changes. Immigration rules are set by governments, not institutions, and a family should plan knowing that.

Why understating is safer than overstating

A family that arrives expecting a right that does not exist has a grievance with the institution that described it, regardless of who made the rule. The reputational damage travels through exactly the networks that drive recruitment here.

A sentence worth using

"Here is the current entitlement, here are the conditions, and this is set by the government and can change — check the official source before you decide." It is less exciting than the alternative and it is the version that survives contact with reality.
